So, it's already been two weeks since my first post. We are now more than a month into Raoul's great idea to run 250 km in 2026. I must say, we trained together for the first time last Sunday morning, and we are both still incredibly enthusiastic. It's nice to find a rhythm together in terms of training, and in my case, to get those kilometers in my legs.
I have a love-hate relationship with running. I know that if I just do something without a plan, I often rush into it too hard. As I mentioned in my previous post, I am first trying to find a good rhythm again by running regularly and following the suggestions of my Garmin. My goal is to run at least 30 km every week.
It's encouraging to see that I am making quick progress. My first training session was a base training of 30 minutes at a pace of 6:30 minutes per kilometer. Today, I did a base training of 44 minutes at a pace of 6:15 minutes per kilometer. After four weeks, 15 seconds per kilometer have already been shaved off the recommended speed, and almost a quarter of an hour has been added to the running time. It's interesting to see this progress!
Additionally, I am delving even more into the data and planning activities in advance. For this, I use intervals.icu, but I will tell you more about that next time.
Looking Ahead
The road to 250 km in 2026 is still long, but the first steps have been taken, and I am looking forward to the next training sessions. On to the next milestones!
Stay tuned for more updates and tips on running and training.
